Nissan: New Jersey Residents Like What They See in Murano CrossCabriolet

The new 2011 Nissan is NJ during the summertime.  The vehicle, called the Murano CrossCabriolet, is modern, edgy and unique and thanks to its drop top feature, it's perfect for cruises up and down New Jersey's coast.  But most of all, the Nissan is New Jersey because it puts a spin on the conventional SUV and the conventional convertible by combining traits from both vehicle types, arguably causing it to be the most unique vehicle to be found on the roads this summer.  Unique, just like New Jersey and the wonderful people who live here.

To start, the concept behind the Murano CrossCabriolet is brand new to the automobile industry, let alone to Nissan.  New Jersey residents generally appreciate bold steps and futuristic ideas, since we often have many of these ourselves.  In order to create the Murano CrossCabriolet, Nissan engineers took the Murano, a crossover/SUV, and essentially just cut the top off of the vehicle.  And just like that, the Murano CrossCabriolet was born.

As is common with new, bold ideas, critics were harsh on the Murano CrossCabriolet, but unfairly so.  Indeed, the Murano doesn't look like any other convertible on the market, but this very reason is what gives the vehicles its charm (and functionality).  See, the reason most people buy convertibles is because they are traditionally sexy compact sports cars with no tops.  But, at the same time, the reason people don't buy convertibles is also because they are traditionally sexy compact sports cars with no tops.

Perhaps you've figured out that herein lies the problem – convertibles are fun to drive, but for most, they just aren't practical.  Often times people own convertibles as a side vehicle, something that only gets driven in the most optimal weather and when the trip doesn't require much cargo (measured in goods and people).  But most of us can't afford a "side vehicle".  However, with the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet, Nissan has made available the convertible to all by making it functional.

The Murano CrossCabriolet has the same wheelbase as its crossover/SUV parent so it comfortably fits four.  It also has a decent sized trunk, which could be called huge by convertible standards.  Finally, the vehicle is all-wheel-drive, meaning it can tackle adverse terrain and weather.

Nissan has also decided to leave nothing to be desired in the interior of the 2011 Nissan.  NJ residents may be shocked by the luxurious amenities that are included in the Nissan, which is normally not thought of as a luxury automaker.  But, they will be pleased all the same.  Standard features on the Murano CrossCabriolet include heated leather seating, a rearview camera, a navigation system, iPod interface and satellite radio played through a seven-speaker Bose sound system that automatically alters its volume as the automatic cloth roof changes positions.

The combination of the Murano CrossCabriolet's looks, passenger and cargo space, and standard features may arguably make this crossover meets SUV meets convertible the most desirable Nissan model to date.  One thing is for certain - Nissan engineers surely had the coast of New Jersey in mind when designing this unique beauty because it is nothing short of perfect for Jersey in the summertime.  Look for the CrossCabriolet at your local Nissan dealership this spring.
